Its that time of year again where we start seeing new seasonal brews line the shelves of our local stores. Most of these, depending on where you live, are “Harvest” ales and thanks to Oktoberfest in Germany, tons of Americans are putting down those summertime Mojitos and Margaritas.
We love beer, have a huge list of favorites (which we might get to later), and are stoked to see the joy of having Pumpkin Pie in a bottle again. Most fall beers (Pumpkin Ales) feature a distinct spicy note, while others around Thanksgiving have more a “sweetness” to them due to the cinnamon or cloves incorporated.
Do you have a favor you think we should know about? Dogfish Head’s “Punkin’ Ale” is pretty damn good, Schlafly’s “Pumpkin Ale” is VERY good if you can find it. Of course, there is always the Blue Moon Harvest Moon “Pumpkin Ale” and Sam Adams ever so popular Octoberfest. Last but not least, coming in a 8% ABV is Weyerbacher’s Imperial “Pumpkin Ale” – yum!
Till those winter stout posts roll in, be sure to leave you favorite below!
