Converse, Jumpman, and Nike Basketball are all partnering to present the inaugural World Basketball Festival – where recording artist JAY-Z will take the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Thursday August 12, 2010, following an on-court showcase featuring finalists for the 2010 USA Basketball World Championship Team.

JAY-Z also collaborated with Nike to create an limited collection of Air Force Ones – the All Black Everything collection inspired by the World Basketball Festival. Nike has donated the shoes to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation who in turn have linked up with eBay on a charity auction that begins on August 12th at www.ebay.com/jayznikewbf.

Earlier today, the boys over at HighsNobiety ran a piece about David Beckham’s new sneakers that I felt compelled to pass along. The sneakers (pictured above) are classy but fresh. They were designed by James Bond. No, not the secret agent. Bond is a designer for UNDFTD. Beginning in July, the shoes should be available at most retailers.

Recently, Tokyo based Futura Laboratories teamed up with Kaneko Optical for a new line of eye wear. The glasses, which come in black and tortoise colorway are all kinds of dope.
