Earlier this month I posted about Empire State of Mind Part 3, and I commented on how the track simply wasn’t that good. Well, now Empire State of Mind Part 4 has arrived and it delivers in a way that its predecessor failed. This time around DJ Green Lantern took responsibility for the production and he melds Empire State of Mind Part 2‘s broken down nature with some nice percussion. Alongside Alicia Keys’ vocals, from the aforementioned Part 2, are new verses from Raekwon, CNN, and Styles P. Raekwon seems much more comfortable on this track than he did on Part 3, delivering some impressive lines. CNN don’t add much to the track but they ride their part out nicely. Styles closes the track with a few bars before Alicia’s vocals are brought back in. To top this all off Green Lantern added a few Jay-Z samples that make this the sequel Empire State of Mind Part 1 deserved.
