Alexander McQueen’s Fall/Winter look book is on a whole new level of “Refined Bad Ass”! The title, “The McQueensbury Rules”, is a fusion of McQueen’s own name and that of a nineteenth century boxer famed for his establishing of the Queensbury rules. It doesn’t surprise us to see that this is clearly McQueen’s most masculine, hard knock collection to date. Dark eyed models, armed with cane in hand, remind us of an old menacing look to that of Alex DeLarge and his gang of “Droog’s”, from Stanley Kubrick’s cult masterpiece; “A Clockwork Orange“. McQueens’s droogs look like they would beat Alex DeLarge and his gang to a bloody pulp though, and would look nothing less than luxurious doing it. McQueen, how do we get jumped into this gang?
