It’s that time of year, when the streets of Los Angeles flows with some of the best beers from around the world. It’s the 2013 LOS ANGELES BEER WEEK.
This year’s 11-day week (Note: normal weeks are seven days, but beer weeks go for 11 days. It’s in the almanac.) starts on Thursady, Sept. 20, and ends with 4th Annual Beer Week Festival, Sunday, Sept. 30, at Union Station, so you’re DUI safe.
And this year, there are a TON of events to hit up, thanks to the growing popularity of the Craft Beer culture, but that was only a matter of time.
It would take to long to name everything going during LABW, but here are some events that caught my eye.
There is the SCHNEIDER BRUNCH at WURSTKÜCHE, in the Toy District, where you can enjoy five beer/food pairings for $40, Saturday, Sept. 22.
THE YORK (in Highland Park) & CISMONTANE BREWING COMPANY PRESENT A NIGHT OF BEER AND BACON on Tuesday, Sept. 25.The description is pretty much in the title.
The 2ND ANNUAL BIG CRAWL IN LITTLE TOKYO, on Sept. 29. Seven bars, including FAR BAR, LAZY OX, and SPITZ in Little Tokyo will host seven breweries, including STONE BREW CO, MAD RIVER BREWING and GREAT DIVIDE, in this breakneck drinking adventure, with no cover charge and free glassware giveaways!
These great events all lead up to the Grand Finale.
The 4TH ANNUAL LA BEER WEEK FESTIVAL at Union Station on Sept. 30.
This year there will be over 70 different breweries pouring for you from noon – 4pm.
I was lucky enough to go last year. You get to sample exceptional beers from all over.
Eat from delicious food trucks.
Try more beers.
Meet great people.
Then take the metro back home.
